DOERS OF THE WORD

Lk 6: 46- 49, 8:20 -21. James 1:21-25

“My son, attend to my words: incline thine ears unto my sayings; let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart; for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh, keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
                                                 Proverbs 4:20-23

When the world was void, empty of purpose, shapeless in destiny, what God applied to bring the needed transformation was His Word. “And God said…” Gen. 1:1-3

When the world was enslaved in darkness sold out to a hopeless prison of condemnation and death by sin and Satan, God gave His word which came with the power, presence and promises of God. That word was Jesus the Christ and mankind was purchased back to God with a price. John 1:14, Luke 4:16 -19

To change the spiritual atmosphere and deliver God’s people from the bankruptcy of divine guidance and direction in the days of Eli and his sons. God began to speak again.

It is God’s desire for your life to be full of testimonies, success and to prosper in His blessing but this must be based upon His Word. Your prosperity in His Word is you progressing in the yielding of eternal fruits and values.

The story was told of a child of God who was diagnosed with a terminal disease and was given some weeks to live. But this beloved Christian chose rather to be healed and live a longer life, what he did was to get Christian books, taped messages on audio and visual Cds armed with the word of God he locked himself up and continued to feed his spirit man with God’s truth. By the time he came out of that exercise, the ailment had checked out his body back to hell where it came from, he became total healed and the doctors could not find any trace of that ailment ever being in him.

When God needed to crush the power of sickness the scripture says “… He sent forth His word and healed our infirmities…” Psalm 107:19-20   the word of God is a Divine channel for the change of story.

When Israel had dwelt too long in captivity God moved to break that bondage and change their story through the release of revelational truth from His word as recorded. That provoked a different spirit in Daniel and geared him towards the emancipation of Israel as seasoned in God’s programme.  “In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the lineage of Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the LORD through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, keep His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those…..Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God, for the holy mountain of my God, yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. And informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give skill to understand. At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision…”
                                                                                                          Daniel 9:1-23

Without the Word you become deformed of the needed might, divine acumen that tears earthly resistance to shred in your desperation to encounter God and gain a change of story.

God’s word keeps you informed with that information are revelational truth, divine armoury, bullets, high grade assaults against satanic hordes that wedge war to keep one ensnared and unable to enter into God’s promise of blessing for us.

We are charged to be Word conscious! If you must be successful then you must make a desperate duty to put the Word of God in your life learn to be guided by the word of God.   “Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only … for if any be hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass”    James 1:22-23. (See also Joshua 1:8)

HOW TO BECOME DOERS OF THE WORD

# Understanding the Personality of the Word of God
The Word functions like a person, in fact there is the Word incarnate. Like a man can hold unto something so the word of God has the ability to take hold of situations and handle them adequately “Where are your forefathers now? And the prophets, do they live forever? But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your forefathers?”                                               Zech. 1:5-6 NIV

John 1: 1, 14

It is that function of the Word that make the calling of the things that are not as though they were and they become.

#Make room for the Word.
“Luke 5:1-3”
And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, 2. And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3. And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.”

If there is no room for God’s word in your life, then you become filled with something else, as a vessel we are not created to be empty. So what you are filled with becomes what will play out in you actions. Many who are empty of the word of God are not doers of the word but do what they have been filled with. Will you practice what you have no knowledge of?

#Practicing the word.
Apply the Word In your day to day activities.
(… Nevertheless at Your Word I will let down the net. Luke5:5). For the miracle he expects Peter chose to put the word of the master to a test. He practiced the Word, not dwelling only on the meditation level, he acted out the word in faith. Becoming a doer of the word of God is not you waiting for a special anointing to compel you before you can do it. It is an action of faith carried out in the physical person. Start doing what God said in His word there is no special grace attached only be obedient.

# Avoid a life of following after traditions and embrace divine instruction.

Do not weigh divine instruction with the bankruptcy of human knowledge. Its limitation will keep you from walking in the miraculous realm of all possibilities.

Matthew: 14. 25. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?”

# Build a Word life

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”
                                             Joshua 1:8

“My son, attend to my words: incline thine ears unto my sayings; let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart; for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh, keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”       Proverbs 4:20-23

To build a Word Life is to consciously fill your life with the Knowledge of God and His word. It is reverence for His word that is seen in the deep search for God and his will through studying, listening/ hearing, storing up and acting out His word by faith in our day to day activities. Allowing God’s word to be our inspiration. To be guided, instructed and firmly rooted/ planted in God and established in His will that is Building a Word Life.

Let me ask you how many preached messages on God’s word do you have stored up in your android phone? Make use of the modern conveniences of the cassette tape recorder; CD Players, and the never –ending stream of Christian teaching seminars and fellowships among others. Buy good Christian books, read them, build your own library. Listen to the Bible on tape. Discipline yourself on the reading, studying of the whole Bible once, twice or four times in a year.

In the car, at home in the office make use of your break time to upload divine truth from God’s word into your spirit man. It is what you meditate on that actually bear fruits in your life. Listen to messages on healing, revival, evangelism, integrity, holiness and sanctification, prosperity, giving, consecration, deliverance, power, presence and the anointing, the Gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit and on Hell, Heaven and the second coming of Jesus Christ. Why all this efforts, it is because of what Romans 10:17 and Hebrews 11:6 says “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing the word of God” “but without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

God bless you.
